ArtRage is a free painting package that provides a realistic and fun simulation of using paint on a canvas, along with pens, pencils, crayons, water and other tools. ArtRage is available for both Windows and Mac.

The interface is clean. stylish and easy to use, although there are much fewer options compared to e.g. Corel Painter IX. The color mixing feels very realistic. ArtRage can be fun for small kids just testing mixing colors, or for older kids who want to try out their artistic talents. ArtRage is freeware.
